the true american experience is wondering if you just heard firecrackers or gunshots

PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS A JOKE

nope among all the ironic america posts this one is actually pretty unironic and on point

Still want motorcycle, kinda want to name it something Kemetic, if it’s tiny it may be named Angry Little Lawnmower

Kind of associating them with Anupet and Wepwawet

Badass biker bitch Anupet thought pleases me

Our truck is named Merkebet. Hemet named her (that’s Tamara Suida, for those who don’t know) – it means “War Chariot.”

It suits her very well.

A Farewell to UPG and SPG

When I first encountered the term UPG, I thought it was useful enough. Unverified Personal Gnosis usually means that whatever info a person is referring to as UPG is their personal experience and not researched or taught knowledge. It’s a quick way of citing yourself as patient zero for a bit of info, a story, a ritual… anything, really. But as time went on I found myself growing uncomfortable with the term and its sister term, SPG. Eventually I decided to drop both altogether. They cause a lot of problems in interaction, cause confusion even as they’re trying to clarify, and in the end aren’t even necessary. However, the pagan/spiritual/magical communities are pretty glued to the terms, so I feel I should make a case to back my reasoning here.*

UPG is inexact and unsuitable for most purposes it’s used for

This is the root cause of almost all the problems having to do with UPG. It seems innocuous, but when it groups the experiences together, a problem emerges.

Great discussion.
I have wondered if SPG can serve as an echo chamber of sorts, and I have seen UPG shut down communication. Hmmm.
